Jack Graham

Jack GrahamJack has led workshops throughout California, Wyoming , Utah Arizona, the Midwest as well as the Pacific Northwest for over 13 years. His work has appeared in many national and international publications including The Naure Conservancy, Audubon, California Wild, Chicago Wilderness, many DNR publications and others. Jack’s passion for capturing images in our natural world and sharing his experiences with others make his workshops informative and rewarding. Living in the Pacific Northwest and numerous photographic trecks throughut the west, lend invaluable experience that allow Jack to get his workshop attendees to the right places at the right times and come away with wonderful images.  Jack’s energy and passion for nature photography makes for memorable experiences for everyone.

Matt Kloskowski

Matt Kloskowski Matt Kloskowski is the Education and Curriculum Developer for the National   Association of Photoshop Professionals. He has authored and co-authored 3  books on Photoshop or Illustrator and teaches an advanced Photoshop course  for Sessions.edu. In addition to being an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop,  Matt is a regular contributor to Photoshop User Magazine and writes weekly  columns for several digital imaging websites.

George Theodore

George is one of our long-time GAPW team members. Comfortable in both film and digital media, he has become a valuable resource for many of GAPW’s workshop attendees. George teaches general digital photography and nature photography at a local community college and is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and Professional Photographers of America. He will be leading the Colorado Wildflowers workshop (an area with which he’s really familiar) and working with Tom Bol at our Winter Wonderland event at Tetons/Yellowstone as well as several others. The “Tom and George team” get rave reviews.

Susan and Neil Silverman

neilandsusan2.jpgSusan and Neil have been teaching and leading workshops for over fifteen years.  They are well know for their thorough scouting and coming up with the obscure and the extraordinary. They share their vast knowledge and experience and enjoy hands on teaching with individuals in the field. Enthusiasm and energy are prerequisites for attending one of their workshops; your passion for photography will be ignited as you share and explore the possibilities of an area with them.  Your workshop will be filled with great image opportunities, enhanced photographic experiences, knowledge and last, but not least, good camaraderie.  They work with several stock agencies and shoot commercially to pay the bills,  but travel and nature photography fill their souls.

Rob Sheppard

robsheppard.jpgRob Sheppard is the author/photographer of over 20 books, a well-known speaker and workshop leader, and is editor-at-large and columnist for the prestigious Outdoor Photographer magazine. As author/photographer, Sheppard has written hundreds of articles about photography and nature, plus books ranging from guides to photography such as the Magic of Digital Nature Photography and the National Geographic Field Guide to Digital Photography to books about Photoshop including Adobe Camera Raw for Digital Photographers Only and Outdoor Photographer Landscape and Nature Photography with Photoshop CS2.  His website is at www.robshepppardphoto.com.

David Middleton

davidm.jpgDavid Middleton is a full-time professional nature photographer, writer and naturalist. He photographs whatever he finds attractive and then thinks about trying to sell it. This has lead David to regularly photograph places as disparate as harbors, wildflower meadows, large mammals, small birds, forests, quaint villages, indigenous markets and mountain streams.

Daniel Dempster

Whether he is photographing the powerful thoroughbreds of Kentucky as they thunder down the stretch of Churchill Downs or roaming a stark and rugged Maine coastline searching for the perfect combination of composition and light he is at home with a camera in his hand.

LeRoy DeJolie

LeRoy DeJolieHis early days of herding cattle on the family ranch allowed him to experience the endless dance of light and shadow upon the sheer canyon walls, secluded water holes, and rippling oceans of sand. These early influences are evident in the emotional images he captures of the landscape of the Navajo. DeJolie is a long time contributor to Arizona Highways Magazine, which published his new  book “Navajoland” (A Native Son Shares His Legacy)” containing his own narrative together with dozens of  his outstanding scenic photographs.  LeRoy also frequently conducts photo workshops for the “Friends of Arizona Highways” organization, and his photographs have appeared in N.Y. Times, Readers Digest, Native People and Time Life Products.

Jim Clark

Jim Clark and Carson Clark

Jim’s philosophy is simple: Enjoy the time in nature, whether you capture the image or not. Soak it all in! Jim is a dedicated teacher who loves to help others achieve the best in their nature photography. For more than thirty-four years, Jim has used his photography, writing, speaking, and teaching to inspire and motivate others. A naturalist first and foremost, Jim’s workshops always include a bit of natural history. He believes the more you know about your subject, the more your photography will stand out from the others. He wants you to enjoy every moment in the field.

A Contributing Editor for Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Jim’s articles and images have also appeared in magazines such as Nature’s Best, Defenders, Wildlife Refuge, Wonderful West Virginia, Birders World, Country, Loudoun Magazine, Photo Media, and Wild Bird. Other clients have included Nikon, Zeiss Optics, National Wildlife Federation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, The National Park Service, The Nature Conservancy, and FujiFilm.

Jim is the author and photographer of four books: West Virginia: The Allegheny Highlands, Mountain Memories: An Appalachian Sense of Place, and Between Ocean & Bay: A Celebration of the Eastern Shore) and The Adventures of Buddy the Beaver, which he co-authored with his ten-year old son Carson. Jim was one of the major contributors to The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography. Jim also contributed to the newly released book, Coal Country.

Jim is Past President of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and continues to be a frequent speaker and instructor for many NANPA events around the country. In 2000, Jim received NANPA’s Outstanding Recognition Award.

Jim also serves on the advisory board for Nature’s Best Magazine. From 2000 – 2008 Jim was a member of the Fujifilm Talent Team.

The documentary film, “Mountain Memories,” profiles Jim’s life and career as a nature photographer. The film, which aired on PBS in August 2003, was also shown at the prestigious 2005 American Conservation Film Festival.

Rod Barbee

Rod is one of the real experts on the Pacific Northwest. A resident of the Olympic Penninsula. Rod is a capable shooter and teacher with numerous publishing credits. He co-authored The Photographer’s Guide to the Oregon Coast with David Middleton. Rod is an exceptional leader, teacher and photographer.

Tom Bol

tombol.jpgTom, whose images appear in numerous national publications, has over forty covers to his credit. He regularly shoots assignments (and writes) for several national publications. A resident of Colorado, Tom’s engaging style and enthusiasm will make you want to come back for more.
