Description:
This session has remained one of the most popular GAPW workshops. We’ll explore the southern region of West Virginia to photograph along the Highland Scenic Highway, the Cranberry Glades Botanical Area, the Falls of Hills Creek, and Cass Scenic Railroad. Last year, the participants were granted access to photograph inside the historic Mill Point Mill. Participants will have an opportunity to photograph spring wildflowers, forestscapes of mountain streams and cascades, the migration of red-spotted newts, and many historical structures such as covered bridges and barns.
On our daily trips we will have opportunities to photograph rural scenery and for one afternoon, we will explore the Cass Scenic Railroad where we will photograph the historical Shay Steam Engines. In the past the folks at the Cass Scenic Railroad have permitted the participants to explore the train yard, which is usually off limits to the public.
Creative Photographer Bruce Haley will once again join us and provide participants a chance to raise their creative photography to a new level. As with all of Jim’s workshops, participants will be treated with healthy doses of natural history.
