The autumn splendor of Canaan Valley and surrounding area equals that found anywhere else in the eastern United States. A kaleidoscope of brilliant fall colors adorns the mountains and rural landscapes in this unique region of the Mid-Atlantic. As the highest mountain valley east of the Rocky Mountains, Canaan Valley’s autumn season starts early. The workshop will explore the beautiful landscapes of Canaan Valley, the rugged landscapes and waterfalls at Blackwater Falls State Park, the stunning arctic environment of the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area, and the imposing rock formation at Seneca Rocks. Jim will add to your experience by including tidbits of natural history for each location we explore.
One of the state’s most respected and renowned photographers, Bruce Haley, will once again join us to provide the participants a unique perspective in creative phtography. Join us as we spend four days gathering wonderful autumn memories in this enclave of the Appalachians.
